Outlook for 2025
Web3 gaming is likely to continue its dominance in the Web3 realm in terms of user adoption (dApp activity). The focus of gaming studios could shift towards enhancing gameplay quality over financial incentives, ensuring that UX of games is at par with Web2 games with minimal Web3 elements through account abstraction.
Tokenomics models which focus on Play-to-Airdrop (P2A), dynamic token supply adjustment (responsive to market demand) and more are likely to be adopted as Web3 gaming becomes mainstream.
Additionally, the rise of AA and AAA titles along with entry of leading players like Ubisoft in Web3 gaming is expected to bridge the gap between traditional high-quality games and blockchain technology, which will also help to attract institutional capital in this sector.
